Basketball Recap: Whitmire Find Success

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Whitmire on Friday. They walked away with a 40-32 victory over the GREEN Upstate Owls. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 37-27 last Thursday.

Whitmire found their leader in sophomore Brooklynn Babb, who posted 14 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Brooks, who earned eight points and six steals.

Whitmire's win bumped their record up to 4-15. As for GREEN Upstate, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whitmire has already played their next matchup (against Abbeville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. GREEN Upstate is taking a road trip to challenge Dixie at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dixie will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something GREEN Upstate surely won't give up without a fight.
