Baseball Recap: White Pine Comes Up Short

White Pine started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Awaken Christian. They lost 13-4 to the Lions on Friday. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Jacob Derbidge was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for White Pine and nudges their season record down to 8-7. As for Awaken Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-6.

While White Pine had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
