Baseball Recap: Vero Beach's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

While Vero Beach put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Pulaski County. The Indians blew past the Maroons 10-0. Considering the Indians have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Jace Romans, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Hunter Johnston was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Vero Beach always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March.

The victory was the third in a row for Vero Beach, bringing their record up to 19-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Pulaski County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vero Beach will take on Jensen Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Pulaski County, they will face off against Rockcastle County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
