Softball Recap: Angleton Wildcats vs. Texas City Stingarees
Angleton lost to Texas City back in March, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Stingarees. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.
Lily Soliz and Lily Calderon did most of the damage at the plate: Soliz went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI, while Calderon got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. That's the most RBI Soliz has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Walker, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Angleton lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
