Volleyball Recap: Grand Prairie Starts off Right with Win over Seguin

Grand Prairie had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Seguin Cougars 3-0. The Gophers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 23, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Grand Prairie walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-10, 25-17, 25-18.

Their offense was headlined by Aniya Banks and Isabella Garza, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Jalesa Escamilla and her 18 assists. Finally, Taylor Nash kept Grand Prairie's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Grand Prairie will challenge Eastern Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Seguin, they will square off against Ridge Point at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.
