Basketball Game Preview: Severna Park Falcons vs. Severn Run

The Severna Park Falcons will venture away from home to face off against Severn Run at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Severna Park was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 64-63 to Old Mill. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Severn Run was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 89-67 to South River. Severn Run was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-27.

Severna Park will need focus on slowing down Jayden Gonzalez, one of several Severn Run players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 13 points and five assists. Ricco Gough was another key player, as he made all 5 shots he took racking up 11 points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Severn Run smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests.

Severna Park's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Severn Run, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.
