Softball Recap: Alleghany Takes a Loss

Alleghany has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.42 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They lost 12-2 to the Wilson Memorial Green Hornets. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cougars have suffered since April 5th.

Alleghany's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5. As for Wilson Memorial, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Green Hornets beat Alleghany by a score of 12-2 later that day.
