Baseball Game Preview: Mount de Sales Academy Cavaliers vs. Crawford County Eagles

The Mount de Sales Academy Cavaliers will head out on the road to square off against the Crawford County Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mount de Sales Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Mount de Sales Academy gave up the first runs last Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over Central Georgia Arts.

Holden Lane spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Mount de Sales Academy let Braden Smith and Amire Vamper run wild. Smith scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Vamper went a perfect 4-for-4 with one RBI. Those four hits gave Vamper a new career-high.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Tuesday. Crawford County came out on top in a nail-biter against Marion County, sneaking past 5-4. The win continues a trend for Crawford County in their matchups with Marion County: they've now won six in a row.

The victory got Mount de Sales Academy back to even at 3-3. As for Crawford County, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
