Recap: Fredericktown Black Cats vs. Central Rebels

The Fredericktown Black Cats lost against the Central Rebels back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Fredericktown received a tough blow as they fell 46-30 to Central. While losing is never fun, Fredericktown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while Central is ranked 24th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jobe Bryant, who scored 16 points along with six assists and six rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Bryant has scored at least a third of Central's points. Braydon Berry was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Fredericktown has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Central, their victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Ste. Genevieve the next time they take the court. Central will head out to face Ste. Genevieve at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, while Fredericktown will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
