Softball Recap: East Hardy Takes a Loss

East Hardy extended their losing streak to 12 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-12 in the process. They lost 10-1 to the Petersburg Vikings. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 16-1 to the Vikings when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Petersburg, their record is now 11-6. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won seven games by eight runs or more so far this season.

For Petersburg's part, Olivia Kimble tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts Kimble has posted since April 3rd.

On the hitting side, Ella Chew was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Miley Tingler was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Hardy will welcome Hampshire at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Petersburg, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Philip Barbour.
