Recap: Design Tech Dragons vs. The Nueva School Mavericks
This season hasn't been kind to the Design Tech Dragons, who are still winless after their ninth matchup. They were beaten by The Nueva School 70-42 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Design Tech has suffered against The Nueva School since January 31, 2019.
Despite the loss, Design Tech still got an impressive performance from Bassam (Sam) Karadshe, who scored 15 points. That was a full 35.7% of Design Tech's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eddy Yee, who scored ten points.
It was another big night for Gabe Ciechanover, who scored 26 points for The Nueva School. Ciechanover has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jackson Lee, who scored 14 points.
Design Tech's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for The Nueva School, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Design Tech will take on San Francisco Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Nueva School won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Kehillah at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Kehillah is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
