Soccer Game Preview: Hesperia vs. Barstow

The Hesperia Scorpions will head out on the road to face off against the Barstow Aztecs at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Barstow took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Hesperia, who comes in off a win.

Hesperia is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Victor Valley onto the board and left with a 3-0 win on Monday.

Meanwhile, Barstow entered their contest against Burroughs on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Barstow took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Burroughs. The Aztecs just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Their goal came courtesy of Oscar Eli Sanchez, which was the first he's scored this season.

Hesperia's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2-1. As for Barstow, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3-1.

Hesperia beat Barstow by a goal when the teams last played back in November of 2023, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hesperia since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
