Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask American Leadership Academy-Johnston). They never let the Eastern Wayne Warriors get on the board and left with a 23-0 victory on Tuesday. The Patriots' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Jaden Pennington and Jayden Bicki were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Pennington tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Bicki struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). At the plate, Pennington scored three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances, while Bicki scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, Pennington posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Teagan Nickerson was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Frank Henry was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

American Leadership Academy-Johnston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.

American Leadership Academy-Johnston's record now sits at 8-0. As for Eastern Wayne, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Coming up, American Leadership Academy-Johnston will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Wake Prep Academy at 6:30 p.m. As for Eastern Wayne, they are taking a road trip to challenge Wayne Preparatory Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eastern Wayne has given up an average of 21.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
