Basketball Recap: Villa Rica Takes a Loss

Villa Rica was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 56-49 to the Westside Seminoles.

Westside's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua Harden, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 boards. The game was Harden's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Christian Little was another key player, going 8 for 12 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds.

Villa Rica's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Westside, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Villa Rica will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on New Manchester at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Westside, they will face off against Morgan County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Westside's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups.
