Baseball Recap: Belton-Honea Path Gets the Win

Belton-Honea Path was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Christ Church Episcopal on Tuesday. The Belton-Honea Path Bears were the clear victor by a 6-0 margin over the Christ Church Episcopal Cavaliers. This was a revenge game for the Bears: when they faced off against the Cavaliers last Tuesday, they had to take a 8-6 defeat.

Not much got past Boyd Maynard, who gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Christ Church Episcopal off the board.

At the plate, Preston Dixon was a standout: he scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2. Rhett Turner also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Belton-Honea Path's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Christ Church Episcopal, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-4.

Coming up, Belton-Honea Path will face off against Easley at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Easley has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.6 runs per game on average), something Belton-Honea Path will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Christ Church Episcopal, they will challenge Walhalla at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
