Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Angel Hernandez and Christopher Puerto Lead Manual Arts to Victory

Manual Arts barely beat Jefferson the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Toilers blew past the Democrats 3-0 on Friday. The Toilers haven't had any issues with the Democrats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

While Manual Arts won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-18, 25-23.

Manual Arts was led to victory by Christopher Puerto and Angel Hernandez. Puerto had 15 digs, while Hernandez had 15 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Puerto has posted over his last six contests. Adrian Collins also deserves some recognition as he had his first kills of the season.

Manual Arts couldn't miss and finished the game having scored on 53.9% of their attack attempts. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a hitting percentage of 53.7% or higher in six consecutive games.

Manual Arts' win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Jefferson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
