Soccer Game Preview: Treasure Coast vs. Cardinal Newman

The Treasure Coast Titans will venture away from home to face off against the Cardinal Newman Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Treasure Coast can't be too worried about heading out to take on Cardinal Newman: they just beat Centennial at home, who had been dominant on their own pitch up to that point. Treasure Coast's defense stepped up to hand Centennial a 4-0 shutout on Thursday. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Eagles are ranked 213th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, everything went Cardinal Newman's way against Martin County on Wednesday as Cardinal Newman made off with a 7-2 win. Jada Alexander was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Cardinal Newman is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 43 goals over those eight games. As for Treasure Coast, they pushed their record up to 7-4-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
