Softball Game Preview: Ryle Raiders vs. Conner Cougars

The Ryle Raiders will face off against the Conner Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Ryle is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Henry Clay just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 14-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils.

Meanwhile, Conner fell victim to St. Ursula Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-0. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Cougars' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Jocy Ortiz was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched.

Ryle's loss dropped their record down to 14-5-1. As for Conner, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-14.
