Football Recap: Galt Warriors vs. Argonaut Mustangs
Galt had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-7 to make it nine. They had to suffer through a 49-14 loss at the hands of the Argonaut Mustangs. The Warriors were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Although Galt took the loss, they still got scores from Robert Rubio and James Gilbert.
As for Argonaut, the win got them back to even at 4-4. The matchup marked their most dominant victory of the season.
Argonaut found their leader in sophomore Zander Castro, who rushed for 156 yards and one score on only five carries. Those 156 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Castro. The team also got some help courtesy of Travis Herrera, who rushed for 81 yards and one TD on only ten carries.
Coming up, Galt will square off against Union Mine at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will be up against the Diamondbacks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.75 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Argonaut, they will head out on the road to square off against Bradshaw Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
