Football Game Preview: Gosnell Pirates vs. Blytheville Chickasaws

The Gosnell Pirates will face off against the Blytheville Chickasaws at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gosnell is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Gosnell and Trumann had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Pirates really took it to the Wildcats for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-12 win. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Blytheville won against Westside last Friday with 26 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Chickasaws came out on top against Highland by a score of 26-14.

Gosnell better keep an eye on Courtney Rogers. He was instrumental in Blytheville's win, rushing for 214 yards while picking up 13.4 yards per carry. Rogers is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 129 every time he's taken the field this season.

Blytheville didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Highland to a completion percentage of just 41.9%. The team can thank Kamron Clay for the heroic effort on defense: he. Blytheville wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 28.6%.

Blytheville's defense also made the game a nightmare for James Jensen, racking up seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Trevon Lewis and James Riley, who racked up four sacks between them. Nathan King was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making seven total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Blytheville's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Gosnell, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.

Gosnell didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Blytheville in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 34-28 victory.
