Basketball Recap: Brush Comes Up Short

Brush was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost to the Wiggins Tigers on the road by a 47-28 margin. That's two games in a row now that the Beetdiggers have lost by exactly 19 points.

Despite the loss, Brush still got an impressive performance from Brisa Aguirre-Garcia, who posted five points and seven boards. Aguirre-Garcia is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Leading Wiggins to victory were Kennedy Kerr and Karsyn Kerr. Kennedy went 8-for-19 on her way to 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Karsyn shot 45% from the field en route to 11 points and eight boards. Karsyn continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Haedynn Epple, who scored six points.

Brush's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Wiggins, they pushed their record up to 14-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Brush does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wiggins, they will face off against Yuma at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
