It was a good run, but Wilmington unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 4-1 to the Andrew Thunderbolts. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 9-1 to the Thunderbolts when the teams met back in April of 2018, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ryan Kettman was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-4.

Wilmington's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Andrew, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-2.

Wilmington and Andrew should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Wildcats (ranked 146th) will meet Beecher (ranked 399th) at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Andrew will challenge Stagg at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (4 vs. 419).
