Avalon extended the longest winning streak in Coastal (8 Man) this week by beating Price, 41-6. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Hope Centre made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 537 from 608. The improvement came about via a 32-22 victory over St. Michael's Prep last week.
Avalon's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lancers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jose Cervantes has thrown for 212 yards and one touchdown this season, while Juan Carlos Murillo has eight catches for 143 yards. Cervantes also leads the league in rushing with 564 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Avalon takes on Hope Centre. Earl Schrader's team's offense has racked up 348 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Hope Centre has allowed only 113 on the year.
