Lakeside Christian fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Cambridge Christian on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 14-13. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Gia DiGiorgio led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Christine Trofemuk, who went 5-for-6 with two RBI and one run.

Lakeside Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Cambridge Christian, they moved to 12-7 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Lakeside Christian will square off against Bradenton Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.69 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cambridge Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 14-10 loss against Northside Christian on the 17th.
