Baseball Recap: Lexington Takes a Loss

Lexington lost against Little River Academy last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Lexington fell just short of Little River Academy by a score of 9-8. The Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Cade Patschke made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Peyton Stevens was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4.

Patschke wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Lexington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.

Lexington's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Little River Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-10.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lexington will face off against rival Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Little River Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Rockdale at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
