Basketball Recap: KIPP Atlanta Collegiate Takes Down Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe in a Playoff Battle

KIPP Atlanta Collegiate had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took down Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe 65-48 on Wednesday. Given KIPP Atlanta Collegiate's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe is ranked 245th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Darian Keefe, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Champion Bowman, who posted eight points along with five assists and three steals.

KIPP Atlanta Collegiate's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.7 points over those games. As for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, their loss dropped their record down to 18-10.

KIPP Atlanta Collegiate wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 65-48 victory against Morgan County on the 22nd. Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
