Volleyball Recap: Bishop Seabury Academy Takes a Loss

Bishop Seabury Academy lost against Jefferson County North back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Seahawks fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 2-1. While the Seahawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Chargers 25-19 in the first set.

Bishop Seabury Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-13, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Bailey Sparks and Xeva Oldridge, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Jillian Werner and her 19 assists. Oldridge was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Bishop Seabury Academy's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Jefferson County North, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.

Bishop Seabury Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] on the 20th. As for Jefferson County North, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Atchison on the 20th.
