Football Game Preview: Monroe Academy Volunteers vs. Abbeville Christian Academy Generals

The Monroe Academy Volunteers will square off against the Abbeville Christian Academy Generals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Monroe Academy is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against South Choctaw Academy last Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Volunteers lost 38-17 to the Rebels.

Meanwhile, Abbeville Christian Academy suffered their biggest loss since August 23, 2024 on Thursday. They were outmatched by Chambers Academy and fell 50-14. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Generals' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Having lost for the first time this season, Abbeville Christian Academy fell to 9-1. As for Monroe Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Everything came up roses for Monroe Academy against Abbeville Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 49-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Volunteers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
