Football Recap: Preston Beck and Jaxson Rex Secure Win for San Clemente + How To Watch

There's no place like home for San Clemente, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took down the Los Alamitos Griffins 28-9 on Friday. For the Tritons, this counts as revenge for the 28-27 victory the Griffins walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

A big part of San Clemente's win came down to the chemistry between Preston Beck and his top target Jaxson Rex. Beck threw for 181 yards and three TDs while Rex picked up 107 receiving yards and three scores. That's the most receiving yards Rex has posted since back in August of 2024.

One reason for the win was San Clemente's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Joshua Kerst was especially locked on to Los Alamitos' QB and sacked him three times. Thanks to that big game, Kerst is now up to 9.5 sacks on the season. Cade Hogan was another major factor on D, making 13 total tackles and defending one pass.

San Clemente now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Los Alamitos, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.
