Baseball Recap: St. Agnes Sets Scoring Season-High Against St. Croix Lutheran

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Agnes). They came out on top against the St. Croix Lutheran Crusaders by a score of 13-8 on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-5 back in April.

St. Agnes let James Steiner and Louis Berthiaume run wild. Steiner went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Berthiaume got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave Steiner a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Danny Plamann, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

St. Agnes always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

St. Agnes has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for St. Croix Lutheran, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Coincidentally, St. Agnes and St. Croix Lutheran will both be playing Nova Classical Academy the next time they take the field. The Aggies will head out to face the Knights at 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Crusaders will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
