Baseball Recap: Valley Christian Wins Going Away Against Cabrillo

Valley Christian won the last time they faced Cabrillo and things went their way on Saturday too. The Valley Christian Defenders blew past the Cabrillo Jaguars 15-3.

Quintin Ekstrom made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Ekstrom was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.

In other pitching news, Nolan Dietz looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, Valley Christian got a massive performance out of Seth Dahlenburg, who scored five runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those five runs gave Dahlenburg a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Abrahams, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Valley Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cabrillo only posted a batting average of .167.

The victory got Valley Christian back to even at 2-2. As for Cabrillo, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley Christian will host Calvary Chapel at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Valley Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Calvary Chapel's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cabrillo, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Dominguez at 3:00 p.m.
