Basketball Recap: Rising Sun Shiners vs. Milan Indians

The Rising Sun Shiners pushed their score all the way to 56 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Milan 62-56. Rising Sun was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Despite the loss, Rising Sun still got an impressive performance from Brody Morris, who scored 27 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Morris has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Shorten, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and three blocks.

Rising Sun has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Milan, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-13.

Rising Sun will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. South Decatur is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Milan, they will head out on the road to square off against the Twisters at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
