Softball Recap: Gateway Charter Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lehigh last Thursday, Gateway Charter came back down to earth. The Gateway Charter Griffins came up short against the Cape Coral Seahawks on Tuesday, falling 15-0. The Griffins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Seahawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Gateway Charter now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Cape Coral, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gateway Charter will host Cape Coral at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cape Coral, they will be playing at home against South Fort Myers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Cape Coral's favor as the squad sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while South Fort Myers has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
