Basketball Recap: Garfield Community Learning Center Victorious

On Friday, it was close, but the Garfield Community Learning Center Golden Rams capped 2024 with a 52-49 win over the GlenOak Golden Eagles.

It was another big night for Rayshawn Hamilton, who shot 4-for-5 from long range and almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in blocks (four). Thomas Walker was another key player, putting up eight points.

Garfield Community Learning Center is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.3 points per game. As for GlenOak, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Garfield Community Learning Center wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 74-42 victory against South on the 30th. As for GlenOak, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-26 win against Collinwood on the 28th.
