Mauldin is 8-2 against Hillcrest since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Mauldin Mavericks will take on the Hillcrest Rams at 7:30 p.m.

Mauldin will head out to face Hillcrest after giving up their first home loss of the season on Tuesday. Mauldin took a 43-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Greenville. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Red Raiders are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hillcrest, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Greenwood on Tuesday, sneaking past 56-53.

Hillcrest's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-8. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Mauldin, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-5.

Everything came up roses for Mauldin against Hillcrest in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 90-63 win. Does Mauldin have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hillcrest turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
