Volleyball Recap: Lafayette Jefferson Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lafayette Jefferson can now relate to. They fell just short of the Zionsville Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Bronchos in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost seven in a row.

Kevin Braxton paced Lafayette Jefferson's offense, picking up 14 kills. Braxton got some help from Erik Ayala Gallardo and his 42 assists. Finally, Colin Smith kept Lafayette Jefferson's defense grounded, leading the team with eight blocks.

Lafayette Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Zionsville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-10 record this season.

Lafayette Jefferson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Zionsville, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Harrison on the 17th.
