Basketball Recap: Tyler Swanson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cottonwood Classical Prep over Sandia Prep

Cottonwood Classical Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a 56-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sandia Prep Sundevils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sundevils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-46 back in January.

Cottonwood Classical Prep's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Swanson, who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Christopher Perez, who had six points and six rebounds.

Cottonwood Classical Prep's loss dropped their record down to 4-21. As for Sandia Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cottonwood Classical Prep will welcome East Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sandia Prep, they will host Cuba at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
