Xander Lipinski leads a balanced attack to beat Young Americans Christian

Recap: Fideles Christian Rangers vs. Young Americans Christian Eagles

The Fideles Christian Rangers waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They came out on top against Young Americans Christian by a score of 70-58. Given Fideles Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 196th, while Young Americans Christian is ranked 454th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fideles Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Xander Lipinski, who scored 26 points along with five assists. Lipinski is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Mitchell McCollum was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caleb Blunt, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Gibbs, who scored 13 points.

Fideles Christian pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.5 points per game. As for Young Americans Christian, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fideles Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Dominion Christian at 3:00 p.m. on January 20th. Dominion Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Young Americans Christian, Young Americans Christian and Lanier Christian Academy will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
