League recap: Landewee overpowering for Notre Dame in past week

Southeast Missouri league recap: 4/3/13

Notre Dame's Justin Landewee was the best pitcher in Southeast Missouri this week. He picked up one win and nine strikeouts.

Top honors in the league this week go to the Bulldogs, which finished with three wins overall, good for best in the league. Notre Dame beat Central 6-2, the Tigers 3-2 and Fredericktown 10-0.

The Bulldogs boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

New Madrid County Central scored 44 runs this week to lead the league, but Notre Dame is tops in runs scored this year, with 45.

The league boasted five .400 hitters over the past week. The group was paced by Matthew Westrich, who collected three hits in seven at bats for a .429 average.



Brad Potts struck out 15 in Dexter's 4-1 win over Central on March 30. Over seven innings of work, he gave up five hits and one run.
