Preview: Macks Creek Pirates vs. Weaubleau Tigers
Macks Creek has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Weaubleau Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Macks Creek put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They really took it to Climax Springs for the full four quarters, racking up a 71-37 victory at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Macks Creek has posted since December 4, 2023.
India Willis was her usual excellent self, scoring 32 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Dorrell, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Weaubleau earned a 61-52 win over Lakeland on Monday.
Macks Creek's win bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Weaubleau, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.
Everything came up roses for Macks Creek against Weaubleau when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 54-22 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Macks Creek since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
