Football Recap: Pinnacle Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Pinnacle's last matchup with Liberty could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Friday. The Pioneers took a blow against the Lions, falling 39-8. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Pioneers, who until this matchup were averaging ten points allowed.

Drew Varsano threw for 141 yards and one touchdown. Joshua Pinder was his top target, picking up 72 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Gavin Hammond rushed for 71 yards.

Liberty had a senior duo take command as Brayden Stevens threw for 132 yards and three TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes and Kam Segall picked up 86 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Pinnacle's loss dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Liberty, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Pinnacle and Liberty will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Pioneers are set to take on their familiar foe Cesar Chavez at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Liberty will challenge rival Mountain Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
