Mecklenburg County suffered their biggest loss since February 12, 2024 on Friday. They took a blow against the Martinsville Bulldogs, falling 80-52. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Phoenix came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 309th).
