Covington came tearing into Saturday's match with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 42-37 W over the Northridge Polar Bears. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 53-35 back in November of 2024.

Several Polar Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jayah Martin, who posted eight points and three steals. Davee Beavers was another key player, putting up nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Covington is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season. As for Northridge, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5.

Covington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-29 win against Troy on the 20th. Northridge has also already played their next match, a 53-29 victory against Norwood on the 21st.
