In what's become a running theme this season, Sam Rayburn gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 69-39 win over Whitewright. Given Sam Rayburn's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 617th, while Whitewright is ranked 1271st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Celeste came up short against Wolfe City on Friday and fell 41-31. Celeste has struggled against Wolfe City recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Sam Rayburn pushed their record up to 17-9 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Celeste, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.
