Kenedy has gone a perfect 8-0 against Yorktown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Kenedy Lions duke it out with Yorktown Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Kenedy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Kenedy is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Port Aransas just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marlins.

Daniel Pena made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4.

Pena wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Kenedy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for Kenedy: they were averaging 4.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.8.

Meanwhile, Yorktown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 12-2 to Woodsboro.

Ezekiel Munoz was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing four bases while going 1-for-2. That run marked the first that he scored this season. Another player making a difference was Aaron Guzman, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Yorktown's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Kenedy, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-5.

Kenedy took their win against Yorktown in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-7. Will Kenedy repeat their success, or does Yorktown has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
