Rock Canyon dropped down to 8-4 on Wednesday, ending the team's six-game streak of wins. They had to suffer through a 53-14 loss at the hands of the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Jaguars have suffered since October 12, 2024.

As for Mountain Vista, their record is now 11-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Ariana Akey was her usual excellent self, throwing for 255 yards and seven TDs while completing 72% of her passes, and also rushing for 108 yards and one score on only 11 carries. Those seven passing touchdowns gave her a new career-high. Kayleigh Besch did her part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 88 receiving yards.

Rock Canyon wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 32-12 defeat against Chaparral on the 27th. As for Mountain Vista, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 54-6 victory against Valor Christian on the 25th.
