Football Recap: Lugoff-Elgin Demons vs. Westwood Redhawks
Lugoff-Elgin lost against Westwood back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Demons fell 34-28 to the Redhawks. The Demons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Lugoff-Elgin saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zach Williams rushed for 68 yards and three TDs, and also threw for 257 yards and one touchdown. Eric Richardson was another key player, picking up 83 receiving yards and one score.
Even if they lost, Lugoff-Elgin's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Pervis Walker, Jace Coleman, and Jacob Jones, who each picked up one sack apiece.
