Basketball Recap: Harding Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Harding was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 49-38 to Mentor Christian. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Skippers of the 42-23 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Harding lost, don't look at Ella Adams. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 52.6% of the Skippers' points, marking the fourth time in a row Adams has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Alspaugh, who put up six points and ten boards.

Harding's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Mentor Christian, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Harding and Pymatuning Valley will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mentor Christian, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against St. Martin de Porres at 5:30 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
