Baseball Game Preview: Pine Plains Bombers vs. Spackenkill Spartans

The Pine Plains Bombers will square off against the Spackenkill Spartans at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Pine Plains is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Pine Plains fell victim to Roosevelt and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Presidents. The Bombers haven't had much luck with the Presidents recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Pine Plains saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Blass, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Spackenkill posted their closest win since May 25, 2024 on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over Dover. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Pine Plains' loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Spackenkill, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.

Pine Plains might still be hurting after the 14-3 defeat they got from Spackenkill when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Bombers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
