Softball Game Preview: Snow Canyon Warriors vs. Crimson Cliffs Mustangs

The Snow Canyon Warriors will face off against the Crimson Cliffs Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Snow Canyon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.

If Snow Canyon beats Crimson Cliffs with 19 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Warriors put the hurt on Pine View with a sharp 19-3 win on Friday. Considering the Warriors have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Snow Canyon got a massive performance out of Alli Beckstrom, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyeci Fuller, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Beckstrom wasn't the only one making solid contact: Snow Canyon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The Warriors are 7-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Crimson Cliffs came up short against Cedar on Friday and fell 5-2. The Mustangs have struggled against the Reds recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

The victory made it two in a row for Snow Canyon and bumps their season record up to 9-10. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for Crimson Cliffs, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.

Snow Canyon was able to grind out a solid victory over Crimson Cliffs in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 5-1. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
